Human Robot Social Interaction

Oct. 2008 - Present

As a research assistant at Stanford Human Robot Interaction Group, I am interested in the possibility of human robot social interaction, and how human perception of robot sociability varies in different contexts. Currently my research project is how stress and emergency context will influence human’s perception to robot sociability, and consequently reliance and other behaviors towards robot.

Improve Tagging Consistency

Jan. 2008 - Jun. 2008

Tagging as a new information organization and retrieval tool, one greatest shortcoming is its inconsistency. In this study we explored how the consistency of tagging can be enhanced by visualization techniques. The results indicated that visualization of inter-tag relevancy can improve personal consistency of taggers.

Tagging VS Categorization

Jan. 2008 - Jun. 2008

In this study we examined the performance of collaborative tagging in a micro scope. Through a preliminary think-aloud test and a controlled experiment, performances of tagging and categorization in information organization and retrieval tasks were assessed under personal information management context.

Internet Sociability

Sept. 2006 - Jun. 2008

Internet is becoming more and more a platform for social interactions. We can formulate the concept of sociability, means to what degree that an Internet application can support social interaction and one’s social networks. In this continuing study, we examined how sociability is perceived by users and possible factors influencing users’ choice on social software.
